Toxic Waste, a candy bar maker in Pakistan, has recalled one of their candy bars, the Nuclear Sludge Chew Bar due to dangerous levels of lead being found in them.
The candy bar company is extremely popular not only in the United States but also in other parts of the world.
The levels were around .24 parts per million. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allows for only .1 parts per million.
This means that the lead content was more than double what the FDA would allow.
All flavors of this particular type of candy bar have been included in the recall.
The cherry flavored bars were said to have the highest lead content out of all of them though.
This would impact all candy bars that were shipped by the company since the year 2007 overall.
The dangerous levels of lead are a high risk to both pregnant women and children.
