For a society that prides it women for her virginity, marrying a pre-pubescent girl [often toddlers], thereby assuring her virginal status at time of marriage, & then subject her to sexual activities, thereby irreparably harming her undeveloped sexual organs is a rampant and widespread practice in the Islamic Republic of pakistan, sanctioned by majority of the religious leaders of that country.
Such acts in pakistan are not vociferously condemned, almost accepted as the norm, citing historical precedence as one of the Prophet Mohammad's [PBUH] favorite wives, Aisha, is believed to have been 9-years old at time of her marriage to him that was consummated not very long after.
