Despite receiving billions of dollars of American tax-payers money as aid each year, pakistan chooses not to purchase American goods, which would have benefited American industries.
Instead, it chooses to plough this money into China, which has almost never gives any aid, per se, only extends a line of credit, far less than what US provides pakistan, for projects in pakistan, that serves China's economic interests more than pakistan's own.
Thus even while American businesses face closure due to the economic downturn, China's flourish and expand, due to the indirect largesse of the Americans themselves.
